Whether the piece is used indoors or outdoors, we have you covered.

Refinishing

Whether its a piece of furniture, or existing cabinetry, we will remove the old finish, prep the items, and apply the new finish per the customer requests. This can include color matching, custom color applications, or changing the look completely.

Custom Color Match

We are able to take a piece of furniture and custom match that piece to a current wall color, or any other color throughout your home.

Furniture Conversion

We specialize in taking a piece and turning that piece into something totally different to match your needs. Common Color Options

Cabinet Paints (Opaques)

Cabinet paints can be applied to cabinetry products, if you desire an opaque-color finish. A painted cabinet finish on tighter-grain type of wood such as maple, will result in a smooth finish. On coarse-grain wood such as oak, the grain texture will be partially visible under an opaque-color.

Cabinet Stains

Stains can be applied to cabinet doors and other visible parts of a cabinet to enhance the natural beauty of the wood, while also adding beautiful color. Cabinet stains can range from light to very dark. Light stains will allow you to see more of the wood’s natural character, while darker stains will hide much of the grain, but can create richer colors and more dramatic looks. Stains may be applied to all species of wood.

Finishing Techniques

There are many cabinet finishing techniques, such as sanding edges, distressing the finish, or adding dents and gouges to cabinets which creates a time-worn and perfectly aged look. Finishing techniques are a great way to give cabinetry a truly unique appearance. Precision Fine Finishing offers many options to emphasize your style. These can include antiquing, brushed, glazed, distressed, and many others.

Cabinet Glazes

Cabinet glazes highlight the different profile edges on cabinet doors, moldings, and accent pieces. If you choose to have Precision Fine Finishing apply glaze to either your cabinet stain or paint finishes, there are two types of commonly used glazes to choose from: flooded or penned. If you choose the flooded process, the glaze is sprayed onto the entire cabinet door, and then wiped off, remaining within the profiled areas, which will somewhat change the overall cabinet finish color. If you select the penned glaze application, the cabinet glaze is applied by hand to only the profile areas while the base color remains the same.

Antiquing Finish (Distressing)

Antiquing offers the feeling of natural wear on wood from years of use. Precision Fine Finishing achieves that look by lightly sanding over the profiles, as well as adding the appearance of worm holes, light dents, and chiseling with randomly scraped profiles before finishing.

Vintage Touch

This is a heavier version of antiquing, plus adds other effects, such as gray toned edging, black speckling, and hand saw marking. Due to the random placement of the effects, every door will be unique and may not receive every detail in order to create the look of a well-loved heirloom.

Brushed Finishes

Brushed finishes can be hand applied over paints or stains, allowing the beautiful expression that can run the gamut from weathered and aged looks to a sleek contemporary feeling, depending on which finish you choose for your combination.
